Working Women's Hostel

The Working Women's Hostel was inaugurated in 1944 with the help and cooperation of the Department of Women and Child Development, Government of India, to cater to workingwomen from middle class families. It was set up within the campus to provide adequate security to them.

The hostel became very popular quite quickly as there is dearth of safe and secure places for working-women with limited resources to stay in. Meals are provided at very reasonable rates and there is also a medical unit within the campus where physicians are in daily attendance. 11 a.m. onwards the lady-doctor there looks after the patients who come to the clinic. Hostelresidents can avail themselves of medical services there at a nominal fee of Rs 5.00.
A Color Television set, a Water-Filter and Emergency Lights have also been installed in the hostel. There is also a well-stocked lending library within the campus for the hostel residents to use.

The high demand for accommodation at the hostel is testimony of the fact that it has come as a great boon for working-women.

Single, Double, Sharing Rooms are available at normal cost.
