Primary School

Saroj Nalini Primary School is a long established unit of Saroj Nalini Dutt Memorial Association. This unit was started in 1947 under the name Practice Teaching Class and was attached to Saroj Nalini Primary Teachers' Training Institute (S.N.P.T.T.I) to facilitate the teaching practice of its students. Later in March 1950, it was renamed as Saroj Nalini Primary School and turned into a Government Aided Institution. The main aim of the school is to impart quality education to the under–privileged children of society.

As is evident, Saroj Nalini Dutt Primary school is one of the units of S.N.D.M.A in the form of a Government aided Institution. The children who study here come from the lower income group of society.
Students are quite regular in their attendance. As a result of this regularity parents and guardians have become aware about the necessity of education. This awareness is further strengthened by the enthusiasm of the guardians who take keen interest in the activities and welfare of the School.

These students get placed regularly in the institution for further higher studies. S.N.D.M.A provides snacks to all students on a regular basis. The Government of West Bengal provides free books to all students from Classes I to IV. The students participate in sports and in ceremonies on the Annual Prize Distribution Day that include Drama, Elocution, Singing and Dancing. The students also observe Rabindra Jayanti, Independence Day, Teacher's Day, Najrul Jayanti, Ananda Mela and other such functions.
